JEL Classification: H11, H83, D73, Z12, C12.
Abstract
Good governance is a crucial principle in the implementation of public services to build public trust in government institutions. Low public trust is often influenced by a lack of transparency, weak accountability, and low responsiveness of officials in providing services. This study aims to analyze the influence of transparency, accountability, and responsiveness on public trust in public services at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Mamuju Regency. This research is expected to provide practical contributions to improving the quality of public services and serve as evaluation material for the application of good governance principles in government agencies. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to 189 respondents who are users of the Ministry of Religious Affairs services in Mamuju Regency. Data analysis techniques used included validity testing, reliability testing, classical assumption testing, and multiple linear regression analysis to examine the influence of independent variables on the dependent variable. The results show that transparency has a significant effect on public trust, demonstrated by the openness of information regarding programs and service processes, which increases public understanding and oversight. Accountability also significantly influences public trust through clarity of service objectives, procedural compliance, and responsible budget management. Furthermore, responsiveness has been shown to significantly influence public trust through the responsiveness and accuracy of officers in responding to public needs and complaints. These findings confirm that consistent implementation of good governance principles can increase public trust in the services of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Mamuju Regency.
